Antarctica is nearly twice the size of the United States. The meaning of Antarctica is opposite to the Arctic. The climate of Antarctica and Arctic is very different. Antarctica is the coldest area in the world. It is about 30 degrees colder than the Arctic. The land animals and plants of two regions are very different. Antarctica is the store house of about 85% of the total world supply of ice. If the ice melts, the volume of oceans would increase, and sea level would rise. Extreme atmosphere changes would have to take place for this to happen.
